The domain

This is a family business established in 1984 and now producing annually on 19 hectares, 1000 hectolitres of Petit Chablis, Chablis and Chablis premier cru, equivalent to 60000 bottles sold in France and export markets.

Stéphanie is the daughter of JC and MC Courtault and with her husband Vincent work on the domain; however, since 2007 Stéphanie and Vincent also run their own business in parallel, producing under their own label – Stéphanie and Vincent Michelet - Petit Chablis and Chablis wines on 4.5 hectares.

Reading (novels and stories to my children)

Your best souvenir in relation to wine?

A Banyuls with a cherry aroma, served with a homemade chocolate mousse.

Your finest moment in relation to wine?

Together with my husband Vincent.

Your funniest story?

On my 21st birthday, when my father opened his last remaining bottle of 1976 vintage Chablis, (my year of birth and also marked by drought) and exclaimed: “quick, replace the cork – its good!”

Your favourite wine

Chablis premier cru Beauroy 1990.

Your motto or favourite saying

“No point in running, leave on time” - but impossible for me! In our family, it is hereditary to be late and I am always running - but perhaps one day, I may be on time...
